The Hugos 2010

The Hugos Award ceremony was hosted on Sunday, September 5th 2010. They have come and they have gone like always, but this year the results presented a bit of a surprise. I am talking about the ultra-rare novel tie, which caused the OMG's of the night [mine included]. I haven't read either of the winners, so I can't comment on whether the tie is justified or not. What I do know is that The Hugos added so much more on my reading list.

I've not read either winner, but The Windup Girl appears on so many of the sites I visit that I'll have to give it a try. I know David Williams was excited his mentor, Peter Watts, won for Best Novelette.

I haven't read either book, though I have listened to a portion of The City on audio, but I've heard such good things about both that I actually am pleased they both got the recognition. I will definitely read them both at some point.

"Palimpsest" was written by Valente not Charles Stross.

True, but Palimpsest was also a novella written by Charles Stross and Stross' story is the one that won the Hugo this year. It was printed in the collection entitled Wireless.

@ Alex: I don't really know, who's a mentor of who... So thanks for that little tid bit.

@ Carl + ThRiNiDiR: I knew that this title sounded familiar. I never did connect the dots. :D
