The Joker in Art

Yesterday I talked about Harley and how I love my psychos. While on the subject the biggest psycho ever to infiltrate our culture with such impact is and will be the Joker. He is a little younger than Batman, making an appearance in 1940 and is Batman's antithesis from moral alignment to personality type. To be quite honest I never liked him that much, because I had seen very old versions and to me seemed like a big, fat joke that wasn't even funny. The Jack Nicholson portrayal cemented that in my mind, until I saw what they had done with the Joker in the newest Batman movie. That performance gave me shivers, blew my mind and made me laugh, all at the same time. Then I came across the Joker in more 00's comics and my opinion changed. I love the insane, so it was easy to enjoy the modern gritty reboots of the character.

I love the third one. The art is creepy and dark, and so good.

I know. It is mesmerizing... I just can't stop staring at it. I am still, whoa.
