I think I will be pretty short about the man of steel. He was developed in 1938 and I think is the oldest super hero created in popular culture. The reason why I don't have much to say about the dude from Krypton is that he is a bit too good a guy for me. I like superheroes that have a small spec of darkness inside their soul and Superman is the collective image of all the virtues we as a social being have conceived. Clark Kent is a poster child for GOOD and I am a person, who has been rooting for the villains every once in awhile. But I don't discredit Superman. He is an integral cultural icon and America probably wouldn't be the same without him as a hero.
