I want to shift the angle and host some villains on the art train. Mystique came to mind almost immediately, because she is one of the defining Marvel evil doers and terrorists, killing and maiming with almost no clothes on. Her first appearance is in 1978, which makes her a semi-new veteran in the Marvel roster and established herself as a controversial and conniving fox with backstabber tendencies. What I love about Mystique apart from the ability to become any person she desires is the schadenfroh attitude and how she enjoys the messes she whips up. The fact that she is a mother to two of Marvel’s greatest superheroes: Nightcrawler and Rogue [foster mother, but still], brings something extra special when the X-Men fight against her. It is one thing to fight with your parents and another story, when you are trying to save the world and your mother is one of the key terrorists that wreak havoc around. Anyway I scanned DA for art high and low, but found the most inappropriate pictures ever. I barely came across these, which explains the sculpture:

Mytique is a mother? Wow, Im behind. Awesome art, I love Mystique too, though I only know about her because of the movies sad to say.
@ Taschima: Mystique in the movies is a Mystique all to different to the Marvel universe in the comics. In the comics she is a mother and a terrorist, who doesn't work for Magneto.
You have my girl featured there. I like the Mayhew versions, which is what I use for my avatar.
Oh, yes... Mayhew. I wanted to use all his renditions, but decided against and in favor of diversity. Such a pity that there was so little good art depictions of Mystique.
Nice pics! Now, Mystique is Nightcrawler's biological mother, right? I'm pretty sure the various writers have been back and forth on that one, but the going concensus is that she threw him off a cliff as an infant (to thwart a hateful mob) and he teleported to safety (correct me if I'm wrong; I stopped collecting over a decade ago).
I love what the storylines ended up doing with Mystique, Rogue, and Ms. Marvel. I know their story has been retold at least once or twice, and it's always impressed me.
Yes, it is proven that she is his biological mother. The blue color is a dead giveaway and I always linked these two, even before I was told the soap-opera truth. The cliff is correct as far as I know, but the details are fuzzy. I know that he was brought up in a circus.
