Japanese Reading Challenge

My book-loving friend and reviewer Dolce Bellezza is holding her third annual Japanese Reading challenge which has already started [July 30th] and will end January 30, 2010. The reason, why I make such a leap for a challenge is because participants are obliged to reading only one work of Japanese origin. Since I already have a novel by Japanese novelist Murakami, I am confident I will push through this one. As promised I am linking straight to the source: aka the official challenge post.

Welcome, Harry! I'm already looking forward to your thoughts and insights on whatever it is you choose to read.

I just hope I don't forget I am participating. Hahahah! You are welcome as always.

This looks like fun, I just wish I knew more about literature of Japanese origin. I read some Manga but not enough to be called a nut. I wouldn't even know where to start!

Cindy, I think I can help you with that at least a little bit. If you have at least a bit affinity towards mainstream/literary, then all you need is Haruki Murakami to be okay with the challenge. Of course there is some SFF fiction in English available through Haikasaru and you can always ask the library for Jap authors.

Glad you're joining in Harry! It's gonna be another great year for the challenge :)

Definitely. :) I am glad I am able to participate as well, considering that I am not obliged to just novels, though I have one to be on the safe side.
